About IELTS

IELTS, the International English Language Testing System, is designed to assess the language ability of candidates who want to study or work where English is the language of communication. IELTS is the world's proven test. Due to its high quality controls, IELTS is accepted by thousands of organisations in over 135 countries.

IELTS is jointly owned by British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge English Language Assessment through more than 1,000 test centres and locations in over 140 countries. The Eiken Foundation of Japan is administrating the test in Japan jointly with the British Council.
