Eiken brings international-education
leaders together at AIEA

Mar 12 2012

A record-setting 800 senior leaders in international education, including 200 international participants, gathered in Washington, D.C. from February 21-23 at the annual conference of the Association of International Education Administrators (AIEA). The Eiken Foundation of Japan, alongside its U.S. partner Associates in Cultural Exchange (A.C.E.), and Asahi-Net/Manaba had the honor of sponsoring a special gathering of over 150 newcomers to the AIEA conference. Additionally, Eiken/A.C.E. joined with Asahi-Net in hosting a reception honoring participating leaders in international education from Japan. The reception provided an intimate setting for over 50 U.S., Japanese, and other international participants to exchange views on the latest trends and initiatives in international education. Among the topics discussed were funding opportunities from the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology in short-term group exchanges, as well as untapped areas for e-learning across borders. The 2012 AIEA Annual Conference was a singular opportunity for leaders in the field to attend valuable and stimulating sessions given by colleagues in the field, and network with colleagues with mutual interests and responsibilities.
