Tokyo Test Center (JP500)

The written test and the Speaking test will be administered on the same day.

Notes on the Venue

• Please do not contact the test center directly. Any enquiries should be made to jp500ielts@eiken.or.jp
• Please refrain from entering test site in advance for reasons such as preliminary inspection.
• Please use public transport such as trains and busses to access the test venue as parking space is not available.

Notice on the change of the examination location

• If you choose Tokyo as your location, you will be asked to select from Tokyo-1 Day, Tokyo, Tokyo 1, or Tokyo 2.
  Please refer to the table below for details of each “Tokyo” and apply to the venue that suits you best.

If you are taking the test at Tokyo, Yokohama·Kawasaki, or Nagoya, you will have the option to choose your speaking test time.

Osaka Test Center (JP512)

IELTS Special Requirements

IELTS Official Test Centres make every effort to cater for test takers with special requirements.
Special arrangements include the following:
Braille papers (including the speaking test)
Enlarged print papers
Special Listening CD

If you require a modified version of IELTS or your circumstances require special arrangements to be made, you must give the test centre advance notice. Please confirm the following and contact the designated test centre.

• For Braille or special Listening CD, it is necessary to send an original medical certificate, written in English, as well as a special form to Cambridge headquarters from the test centre. Please contact the designated test centre at least 4 months in advance of your requested test date.
• For special arrangements such as extra time, please contact the designated test centre at least 8 weeks in advance of your requested test date. An original medical certificate, written in English, as well as a special form must be sent to Cambridge headquarters from the test centre
• If you wish to bring items other than glasses for medical purposes; i.e. eye drops, medicines, handkerchiefs, crutches, etc., please contact the test centre at least 2 weeks before your test date. You may be asked to submit a medical certificate (original copy either in English or in Japanese) and test day staff will check your item on the day. Please note that you will not be permitted to have your item with you during the test, except for special circumstances. Test day staff will keep your item at the front of the room, so please ask when you wish to use it.
